Enter your personal information for our Membership Database (note: please use consistent information throughout the registration process), and pay the National and Local Affiliate (if applicable) Registration Fees. After online registration is complete you will receive a confirmation within 24-hours and a copy of the USA Hockey Playing Rules within a week.

OPEN BOOK EXAM
The Open Book Rules Exam is accessible 24-hours after online registration. Go to the Open Book Exam page at the Officials section of USAHockey.com and follow the steps to begin your online exam. The exam may be printed (look for the link at the first question), and you may save, quit, and return at any point of the exam. Once complete, please review your answers and and confirm submission of your exam (it will no longer be accessible once submitted). We strongly encourage you to wait until you receive your rulebook and attend your seminar prior to completing the exam. Additionally, it is recommended that all officials print the exam and record their answers and rule references to compare with their results when they arrive.
All USA Hockey Officials must attend a USA Hockey Officiating Seminar each season. To find one in your area, go to the Seminars page at the Officials section of USAHockey.com and select the referee login link to set up a profile, find a seminar in your area and register for it. Most seminars are scheduled between August and November of each season, and schedules begin to appear at the websites by mid-July. Since all seminars are scheduled and coordinated by Local USAH Staff, please contact them using the respective links at the Directory page of the Officials section of USAHockey.com. While at the seminar, please record contact information of your Local Supervisor of Officials, Seminar Coordinator, and Assignor.
Once you complete the three steps of registration, you will receive your USA Hockey Officiating Card and Crest and you are eligible to work USA Hockey sanctioned games. Note: It may take 2-4 weeks for seminar information to be processed at the local level and forwarded to the National Office by our hard-working volunteer staff. Please be patient and contact your Local Supervisor of Official or Seminar Coordinator if you have not received anything within 2-3 weeks of completing the registration process.
